Default New G5 Questions

Waiting for my new G5 Dual Core 2.3GHz to arrive. I 'd like to know the proceedure to exchange my Digi 001. When I finally receive it, should I install Protools software on my Lacie d2 160GB external drive or on the Mac. Secondly should I also turn on Journaling on that drive. Yes, I have read the "Audio File Requirements..." on the website, but I would like to be sure and I don't want to destroy sessions I already have on that drive which I recorded with the 001, Protools 6.4 and OS 10.3.4.

You always install Protools on your system drive. Not a MAC user so others will help on your other questions.

Info on the hardware exchange program can be found here. As the previous poster mentioned, you should install ProTools on your main system drive in your Applications folder just like anything else. Journaling is now recommended by Digi for all drives, you just have to turn it on in the Disk Utility (it doesn't change the data in any way).

Thanks you've been most helpful. I haven't done any installations in awhile as you can see from the specs on my current rig. Once I added Reason and was receiving many prompts to "increase buffer size etc, I decided to go ahead and upgrade. I can hardly wait to get the G5. I saw where someone was still getting DAE Error Messages telling him to increase the buffer size after he had upgraded to the Dual Processor and PT 7. What are the proper settings for Reason 3.0 and Protools for the buffer size and samples and is it safe to get PT7 or should I wait for the bugs to clear?
What are the Digi 002 Racks shipping with?

Thanks Artie
