When I try to launch Pro Tools (8.0.4) it will bounce in the dock then continue to bounce in the dock. Eventually it will stop bouncing then maybe a min or 2 later The Pro Tools splash screen will pop up and it will begin to load. So far I tried deleting prefs. I also tried removing all the plug ins and launching and I tried launching from another account I made just for pro tools aka slow tools. What else can I do. Does anyone know how to fix this? I feel my only option is to try a reinstall but that's my last resort of course. Thanks in advance

Have you done everything in the General Troubleshooting thread already?

A G5 is a G5...not all have motorola chips...its a PPC...maybe we should ask how old is his computer?...it sounds like he upgraded his G5 operating system.

Have you put your audio drives in the privacy panel of Spotlight?
What about trashing preferences or testing from a new administrator account? Do you have any NAS or other networked drives attached? |

I just had this same issue start after upgrading from PT 8.0.1 to the latest 8.0.4.
Otherwise, everything seems to be working fine (unless you count the issue with the undo queue creating a region bounds error when opening a session). Starting to become afraid of what problems I will find next. |

Actually I noticed this the other day...I've been on 8.0.4 since it's release and this is a new occurrence with me. I also seem to remember putting my audio drive back into spotlight. I'm going to remove it and see if that helps.
