Note that all opinions, observations, whatever, in this post are mine, unless I'm being mean or am wrong, in which case it's somebody else's fault. I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?

And the dirt simple answer is; use the lowest buffer you can for recording(lowest latency) and the highest setting you need for mixing(very dependent on the computer).

Don't be put off by any of the answers your getting, they are all legitimate. Albee's buffer recommendation is a biggy, as is Bill's "read the f***ing manual". (I personally love the reference guide, all the technical answers are in there!!)

Don't get discouraged, it's taken years for me to really get a grip on ProTools. It's a deep program and I still learn new thing I can do with it everyday.
