NI Session Guitarist VI's not syncing in PT 2021.6

Alun here,
Any other composers/music producers working in PT finding this problem after upgrading to 2021.6?

In NI Kontakt,(Komplete Ultimate 13) VI library Session Guitars - Strummed Acoustic 1& 2, Electric Sunburst standard and deluxe... there seems to be a serious clocking issue?
to troubleshoot:
•I have run Kontakt in VEP 7 Pro, in PT on an instrument track, and on an aux track... same problem persists.
•I have run other similar 'clock/sequencer playback' VI's in Kontakt and they do not suffer the problem?
•I have run PT using both the Dolby Audio Bridge, HD Native and native Mac sound card - problem persists.
•I have tried all buffer settings.

- Problem is:
While Pro Tools is paused, the VI (Session guitarist - all of them) functions perfectly. Play keys and samples/locked sequences play immediately.
As soon as you put PT into play or record, the VI responds to midi input (shows midi input receive and displays chord/notes) , but no samples/sequence/ audio is triggered...
BUT - if you continue/leave PT in play/ record for the duration of on full 'sequence' loop and remain/sustain triggering the midi input (keys)... the samples begin proper playback after one 'cycle', whether that be 2,4,6, or 8 bars??? At this point the VI responds correctly, changing notes/chords in real time - that is until rec/playback is stopped - then back to the delayed audio trigger???

So basically unusable.

I'm aware this is also probably a NI / Session guitars required fix as other similar sync playback based VI's in their suite are working fine (I am reporting to them as well), BUT... as per another thread I've posted - Real Time Quantise has also broken in this release of PT 2021.6 - so I suspect a deeper PT related software / clocking issue here?

What exact version of Kontakt are you running? In another thread here people are reporting various issues with K6.6.0 which is the latest version.

- OSX 10.13.6
- PT 2021.6
- Kontakt 6.5.2
- VEP 7.01

and all my NI guitarists´Libs works fine.

Without VEP, Kontakt as an AAX plug ins, all Instruments with internal Sequencer are not in sync with ADC, but this is a known problem for years.

in VEP everything works fine.

Like me you're on an unsupported OSX version. So far things have worked out ok for the most part but I also understand that when I have issues it might be due to some incompatibility between PT 2021.6 and High Sierra. Latest revision of VEPro is 7.01.1056

Yes. absolute no problem at this point on 10.13 and I use a lot of stuff in PT (over 2000 plug ins, ...) and the update to 2021.6 was so quick. no special plug in scan. and the performance and everything else works exact as bevor. I never did a clean install.

but I want to go to 10.15. now. I hope I don't regret it. :)

Being on a Mac I don't have to do a clean install when I get a new version of PT. I just install the new version. Actually I have four versions of PT (2019.6, 2020.12, 2021.3.1, 2021.6). Being you're thinking about going to Catalina I'd do a clean install of EVERYTHING - OSX/PT/plugins. Don't use Migration Assassin or Time Machine. Make a safety clone of your existing system and then have at it.

Sure.

I still question the reason for using 10.13 as the only real reason would be need to use NVMe drives, without that need would be better to keep using 10.12 if old OS is the thing. Then again, for some computers 10.14 made using NVMe even more easy but on my testing it was a performance hog and 10.15 gives far better, matching Sierra kind of performance (especially with a clean install, but it is pretty much assumed here).

So my recommendation would be a clean install of Catalina for Intel hardware and clean install of Big Sur for Apple Silicon. Just remember if you have music and photo libraries on that machine it is best to make in-situ upgrade first, then backup, and after that make a clean install and restore your stuff.
