IDE drive recommendations?
I haven't upgraded my drives in a while. Just wanted to know what everyone is using and where they're getting them. I want some IDE drives to put in Firewire cases. BTW, I'm running one of the newer Mac's with the 133MHz buss.
Thanks! |

Re: IDE drive recommendations?
I like the Western Digital special edition w/ 8 MB cache and 3 yr. warranty.

Re: IDE drive recommendations?
Seconded.
Don't go any bigger than 120 GB, though, because the ATA 66 or ATA 100 busses can't effectively deal with drives that large. Lee Blaske |

Re: IDE drive recommendations?
I replaced my G4's int with a IBM Deskstar 80 gig for $99 at macresq. Highly recommended. do a search of these boards and you'll find it's a proven winner. Be wary of the new high capacity (120 gb+) drives.
