Default suggestions on using pt8le alone

i've had an apogee ensemble for a couple of years and mainly use logic pro, ableton live and reason for my creations. however, i still use pt8le for editing as i know it better as far as an editing tool.

now, i need to raise some cash and would like to sell my digi002r but continue to use pt8le as my editing tool. is there a standalone version of pt8le available? so far, i've not been able to find it.

if not, what other suggestions would you have. i really don't want to spend $300 to upgrade to protools10 just to use it as an editor.

my system is imac, 2.8ghz, 8gbmemory, 27", i7. osx 10.8.2 . pt8le is 8.05 the last one available.

thanks in advance. this doesn't fit any particular section so i chose it due to my having pt8le. if this should be in a different section, please let me know.

PTLE 8 requires hardware like all versions of PTLE. You should be able to find a used Pro Tools 9 asset cheaply which will allow you to break free of the interface requirement.

Yes, PT9 or 10 requires Ilok to run.

Yes you will. Having said that I would much rather have an iLok then have to drag around an interface.
