Default pt 10.3.2. crashes when saving | "bus error" in thread Mainthread…

hi there,

when i try to save a session or drag an drop a soundfile from finder to a session i get the following error pop up message:

"bus error" in thread Mainthread at address 0x0

after confirming that message protools 10.3.2 crashes immediately.
(i can send a crashreport if needed)

so i trashed all protools / avid preference & database related filed,
repaired permissions and
uninstall/ reinstall pt 10.3.2

but to no avail.
did i miss something?

thanks for your help,
ciao, johannes

osx 10.7.5
pt 10.3.2 (native)
mbp 2012
(no external soundinterface connected)

… also updating to pt 10.3.4 doesnt change anything. i try to create a
new session but pt crashes. (same "bus error" message)

i forgot to say that i have a:
ssd hd in my mbp
and 2,6 GHz Intel Core i7 (quad)

any ideas how to solve that issue?

EDIT: when installing pt without the avid video engine the crashes happens without any "bus error" popup message (when saving or drag n drop audio).

Exclamation Re: pt 10.3.2. crashes when saving | "bus error" in thread Mainthread…

You don't need the Avid Video Engine installed if you are not using a Mojo or Mojo SDI video peripheral.

Does your session have any ReWire plug-ins?

good to know!

no, its just a raw session with one mono auiotrack in it.
btw. for testing i moved the content of the plugin folder into the unused plugins folder, so i guess the error is not plug-in related…

Question Re: pt 10.3.2. crashes when saving | "bus error" in thread Mainthread…

Do you get the "unexpectedly quit" window in the OS with the details of the crash? If so, could you post that data here or as a txt document somewhere on the Internet (i.e. your public DropBox folder)?

i also tried to create and save a session on a external hd which for me results in pt crashing. anybody who had a similar problems and found a solution?

maybe i forgot to say: after the update from pt 9 to 10 and from lion 10.7.2 to 10.7.5 the described "bus error" appears. after reinstall pt without Avid Video Engine the error no more appears but pt is still crashing. i don´t get it.

would it help to reinstall lion 10.7.5 on my machine?

EDIT: i now also created an admin account on my mac and tried to run pt from there… still with same outcome: pt crashes.
please give me hand with that. thanks
