HDX to Thunderbolt to Macbook - Success Stories?

Hoping that someone out there is doing up to 64 channels to a laptop via thunderbolt/HDX. I'd like to hear some success or not-so-much stories, as this would be a very appealing approach to me. I've been fine doing the FWx thing, and I really only need to go to 48, but any input based on experience would be appreciated.

Anyone? Bueller?

I haven't but do you need the HDX or would the HDN/TB box work for you?

Well, the scenario I pictured was the Venue HDX internal card to HDN thunderbolt interface, unless I've missed something, which is very possible:)

sorry, I forgot the name of the Venues card to connect to a HD system was HDX, I was thinking the HDX DSP card

Please guys, refer to HDx when talking about VENUE card and HDX when about Pro Tools DSP card.

It is possible to run HDX card in Thunderbolt chassis to a laptop although I haven't personally seen such a setup running yet. I'm still dragging a HD2 Accel tower out for serious tracking jobs. It just works.

And this is precisely the part I'd like to avoid.
