i have a D12 (led zep mic i used to carry with me for my live drumming) just sitting here ...it seems to be broken and blown

i'd love to have it repaired and see how it stacks up with my M88 Beyer

i wonder what is worth and where to take it in L.A. to get it refurbed

anybody?

Well, as long as we're talking not just kik micing, an old Shure 55 ( not the new reissues ) sounds great placed between the kik and the snare. Picks up a lot of the bottom snares and gets some great thumpy kik in it as well. Works great if you crunch it a bit and blend it in for flavor.

One of the only things I DO like a 58 on is a bass drum. They sound cool to get an unbassy bass drum sound.
