Can't get Pro Tools 11 Authorised
Hi There,
I have an iLok 2 and have followed the instructions on the iLok site but for the life of me I can't get this working sorry. The iLok manager (which frankly, looks like a cheap port of a Linux app) gives me a useless error: - "Error Summary" - Then no message - Then "Press OK to end this operation" I've tried searching but all I see are endless threads from a few months ago full of people who seem as frustrated as I am - sorry if I missed the solution amongst that lot. I realise no one from Avid will read this but I've found the switch to iLok nothing but frustrating. I find myself traveling form work to home all the time because I've left my iLok in that special place so I don't lose it. I want to make music, not manage licenses - we've paid for the right to do that haven't we? Rant over, any help would be much appreciated. Cheers |

What OS and version of iLok License Manager are you using?
With OS 10.8.4 and and iLok License Manager 2.2.1 I've not had a problem.

Thanks heaps for the reply,
I'm using 10.8.4 and iLok manager 2.2.1 (it wasn't previously installed with this computer). Like I say, I get an error with no description - transferring the licenses is as simple as logging into the account and dragging the licenses onto the iLok 2 right? |

Also forgot to mention that I was able to transfer my Waves licenses from iLok 1 to iLok2 using the license manager - no problems.

I just restarted and tried the whole process again - but see the same unhelpful error when I try to copy the licenses over:

OK, so there was no new info or info that explains the issues I'm seeing in that video.
I've also tried a "Sync/Repair" on the iLok 2 but no joy. So all the problems from a few months ago are fixed yes? |

Are you able to login to your iLok account with the iLok License Manager?
If not, are you able to login at www.iLok.com to confirm that you have created an iLok account, and that you are using the same login on the ILM app? Starting from the basic questions, since I have not seen the error you are showing for a few months. |

How else am I able to see my new Pro Tools 11 license? I realise this is new to you but I've been dealing with this for a day and a half and I'm seriously losing my patience. I would like someone from Avid to answer these questions: – Don't you think software piracy is a matter of principal? – Therefore, don't you think people are always going to pirate software? – Therefore, can't you see that this convoluted crap just frustrates loyal customers? If I want to download a pirated version, I can do that right now - have you seen the amount of cracked versions out there? The reason I won't is because of principal, I believe in paying people for their hard work – what a joke. People who pirate software (we all know heaps of these people) laugh when they hear about this stuff. All you're doing is recruiting people for the other team as everyone has a limit for this stuff and once they cross over, there's no turning them back - and why would they bother? |
