Default How do you open a session and disable all plugs?

I made a session too large for my system and now it doesn't want to open. I want to disable the plug-ins before I open this session so that I can make some tracks inactive. Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks...

Hold down Shift while clicking Open in the Open Session dialog. BTW, there's a searchable PT Ref guide in the Help Menu.

The shift trick doesn't seem to work from the startup dialog FYI, only with the command+O command.

Hi,

Are you holding shift whilst opening the session? (not booting pro tools!)

i use the option key while removing send and plug with a global intent
it takes out rows at a time

about 8 mouse clicks and your are clean

you said "disable"...my suggestion will remove

probably not what you meant.

The 'hold shift' trick doesn't seem to work if you get the "this session was saved with a different playback engine" dialogue - whether or not you change the pb engine at that point, it then seems to forget that you held shift.

Move those (all?) plugins to your unused folder before booting Pro Tools. The automation will retain but the plugin will show as inactive. PITA was to do it, but it works when there's no other way.
