Default Red Book Capabilities

As far as programs go, are Peak and Jam the only two programs that will burn Red Book on a Mac?

Thanks

Peak requires Jam to do Red Book burns.
Jam requires Peak for editing capabilities.

Waveburner is now bundled with Logic. I've not read good things about the new OSX version. As far as I know you cannot purchase the OSX version as a stand alone application.
I still use the original release in a dedicated Mac that runs OS9.

DSP-Quattro looks promising but as of this date does not do full red book burns.

If you write code there's a hole waiting to be filled and it doesn't appear (which doesn't mean they don't have a plan) that Digi is rushing to fill it.

Pitman-

Thanks for the info.

I actually purchased DSP-Quattro. First off, it's an easy program to operate, and I've been able to mix a few tracks with ease.
I have Jam for Red Book burns, so I'm not concerned about Quattro having it at the moment, although it would be nice if they got to it at some point.

Waveburner for OSX is a total piece of crap. Apple screwed that program up badly!

I think I'll be fine with Quattro and Jam.

I've been looking at Quattro.
Does Quattro save work as Jam images?
Like it better than Peak?

From the manual:

Audio CD image files are fully compatible with other commercial software as Jam and Roxio Toast, making the integration between these applications very easy and flexible.

Peak really never worked for me the way it should have. Too many bugs to deal with. I'm pretty satisfied with Quattro, and the price was just right.

strange? in my opinion peak is great and works just as it should. i use peak version 4.12 and am very happy about it. together with toast&jam version 5.23 it is all i need for red-book authoring.

I haven't had much luck with it, no matter what version I tried. I do remember Peak OS9 being a lot more stable.

Imagine-
Do you do your playlist and crossfades in Quattro?
I've never used the crossfade option in Jam.

I haven't gone that far with it, but I'll be trying it this weekend.

From what I can see, you've been using Peak. Are you not liking it?
