Default Reason Adapted vs Not-Adapted...how does it work?

I'm currently using ProTools with Reason Adapted. I'm going to be switching a current project to a computer that uses the regular stand alone version of Reason with ReWire, and I'm not sure what the difference is.

Can you bring up Reason in a midi track just like you do in the Adapted version?

How do you get Reason to play in sync and have the sounds play inside ProTools, is this part of the Reason/ReWire installation?

Thanks,
Arthur
