Default General opinion of SoundToys TDM re upgrade offer...

Hi, I have the opportunity to upgrade from Massive Pack 5 Filter Freak & Tremolator TDM plugs, to the full suite of SoundToys V3 TDM for $695 as per their current offer, given that I'm UK based, and the exchange rate is incredibly good at the moment, I can get this for 350GBP.

This seems too good to pass up, but I'm new to the HD platform and not so sure what's really useful and what isn't.

What's the general view on the whole Sound Toys suite, obviously I'd like EchoBoy, and some of the other stuff sounds interesting...

Any thoughts appreciated

Thanks
J

Hi,

At the price its a great deal! They are all great plugins at very sensible prices.

Sound blender is a wicked little secret weapon that often gets over looked! great multi effects etc in the style of Eventide DSP's.
Pitch doctor works better than AT in my opinion although a little latent, but worth the extra hastle of having to drag the track backwarads if you have more plugs in the chain. less of the cher effect than AT, use it on lead vocal and AT on BV,s.
Echoboy, goes without saying!
Phase mistress is cool and very quick and easy to use plus its warmer than some others!
Speed (Audiosuite only) quick and intuitive and works well on lots of things! maybe the one plug that could do with some updating with some better algorhythms or whatever to get it up to the quality of x-form and waves and PnT but i still use this lots on quick and simple things.
FilterFreak, well you have this already, but i couldn't mix a club record without this baby in my arsenal.

Chris

For me, they're indispensable - I couldn't mix without them. Very unique sounding effects, with tons of useful (and totally insane) presets. Go for it.

I was a little confused about which serial # to use on the order page, since I have Massive Pack 5, so I called to ask about it. Not only did they give me the info on it, but I mentioned I had Massive Pack 4, and they told me that I have 3 Soundtoys plugs that qualify(SpeedHD from MP4, and the 2 from MP5, Filter Freak & Tremolator)!!! So now, I get to save another $100, woohoo!! I am sooooo there. Of course, MP6 will probably come out tomorrow, lol....

I've got five, so I'm going to upgrade. If I don't upgrade, converting my five plug-ins to v3 is going to cost $49 ea., so I'm well on the way to the $395 the full package upgrade would cost. Hmmm, I wonder if they planned it that way to encourage folks to upgrade to the full package? Might as well go the rest of the way. For me, the two most useful plug-ins are EchoBoy and FilterFreak. I probably use EchoBoy way too much, but I really like it.

I really like the attitude of the SoundToys folks, so I hope they keep on doing what they've been doing. I'd be curious to see what they currently have in the works.

Hope lots of people get onboard with this offer. It's good to give a financial pat on the back to software companies that are really doing an exemplary job.

I'm also a massive pack 5 owner and I'm glad I upgraded. Great people, and great plugins. Aldo did the upgrade to eventide bundle... amazing!

Go for it!
