D Command Owners - Happy?
Hi All,
I've been looking into purchasing a D Command for a while now; I was wondering how users were liking theirs and if they felt it was worth the investment - can you truly mix on it without needing the screen as much...is all the "option clicking" and "paging" due to the lack of dedicated knobs easy to adjust to, or is it unbearable? Thanks for any input. JSR |

Re: D Command Owners - Happy?
...I guess not many users like the D Command; thanks for saving me the 30k!!! I had a feeling this would be the response. Even my local dealer told me it wasn't worth the 30k.

Re: D Command Owners - Happy?
FWIW,
I am very happy with my D-Command. The unit has increased my work flow, especially with PT 7.2., which subsequently make my clients happy. Best regards, Tord Stemland

Re: D Command Owners - Happy?
I'm not an Icon user/owner, but $30k?! That must be the 24-fader D-Command, eh?

Re: D Command Owners - Happy?
Well it's the cheapest truly *usable* control surface for PT IMHO. (The 24-fader version, that is)
I'm happy with the new and more creative workflow I've gotten after getting mine, though it's a lot of money...

Re: D Command Owners - Happy?
Been using them for a while in other people's studios - took the plunge and bought my own one a month or so ago, and it's absolutly perfect for the sort of work I do. It's fast and intuative, and with the new VCAs and automation features in 7.2 it's about as streamlined as you can get.
Long and short of it is - I'm delighted with the operational features of the unit, and it's improved my work flow enormously, but I do feel it's rather a lot of cash.... Mat

Re: D Command Owners - Happy?
I didn't fork out the money for it, but I'm extremely happy my boss did.
And, after 15 months, he stil hasn't taught me how to use the damn thing, so I've been learning as I go. Still started faster on it than I was using the Pro Control we had before.
