Default dual g5 performance tip 30 to %40 more

I am sure a lot of you know this but i am also sure some of you dont. If you are running a dual g5 of ANY configuration try this.

SYSTEM PREFERNCES / ENERGY SAVER / OPTIONS

and change the processor performance setting to MAXIMUM from the default setting and you will see a 30 to %40 boost in juice.

this will also work with single processors as well (jusy learned that) by the way this is straight from a apple tech.

This is included in the OS X setup and troubleshooting thread at the top of this forum. Yes, it makes a significant difference.

In System Preferences > Energy Saver
Uncheck anything that allows the computer to go to sleep/shutdown/ power save etc.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but why would you ever set your CPU performance to anything BUT maximum? Would certain circumstances require it to be lower?
