Playback Dropouts

Setup:
Windows 11 Pro 21H2
Pro Tools 2021.6.0

i5-8600k
32GB Ram


Anytime I record, I get very consistent audio dropouts. I have tried different sample rates, maxing out the hardware buffer, but the dropouts persist. The recordings, themselves seem to be fine. I have no idea why this is happening. Is there something I have overlooked?

Make sure Setup>Playback Engine>“ignore errors” is not checked… do you ever get an AAE error?

What exactly are you doing/recording? With what interface?

Dropouts can happen in analog input, during the DAW recording, during DAW playback, or in the analog side of playback. You can test all these… do you see dropouts in the pro tools recorded waveforms? In the master fader meters on playback? What happens if you drag and drop a commercial MP3 recoding into a session, etc.

What do these sound like? How long do they last? Can you work out a way to record them and post online?
