Default Digi max fs pres vs. 003 pres.

I'm going to buy an interface to connect via adat to my 003 so it's easier tracking drums and such, and wa curious if the pres and converters of the digimax fs are better then the 003's.

The Digimax mic pres are very similar to the 003's mic pres. They are quite clean and quite. Very usable for instruments and most mics. They don't color your sound much and therefore don't work for all vocals. For vocals, you'll want something with more character to color your sound along with the appropriate mic. I don't have a profire2626 but have heard some good things about it. Again these mic pres are more for accurate representation of the source and not enhancement. For drums, both should be fine.

I've heard great things from the profire.

I use a Universal Audio LA-610 and love it for vocals.

We bought a Digimax D8 I am running ADAT to my 003, it's used for toms and other percussion beyond the kick, snare and OH (which I use other pres for) we where totally amazed at the sound and level we could get with them.

I don't know if this will be an issue for you or not, but I believe the 2626 is M-powered, not LE

I been told (here) my Control 24 is not supported

The 2626 can be used as a standalone converter/expansion unit. That's what the guys are talking about here.
