DRIVERS issue with FW 003 DIGIDESIGN

Dear community, since 2 days, my PT 12.4 (win) does not work properly with my FW003 hardware.

I guess there is a driver problem, because, I've been trying to install the last driver from AVID, but the FW003 is not recognised.

In fact:

9.0.8 does not work (not recognised)
9.0.7 does not work (not recognised)

but 9.0.6 works, well, the FW003 is detected properly in devices manager, but no automation, no menu avalaible in lcd, just 'sound'.

I don't understand why those last drivers don"t work ...

is my FW 003 firmware up to date ?

I've tryed when the device detected, to update by placing the hadware in the firmware mode, but nothing at all appended ...

'host' stops flashing for 3 or 4 seconds, and nothing else.

does someone knows what exactly version is needed ?

Did it work with an earlier version of Pro Tools on this machine and OS? Assuming this is a new setup, what is the firewire controller brand? VIA chips will often not work. TI(Texas Instruments) is the recommended FW controller. Next thing to check is what driver you are using. On most windows machines, there are 3 "resident" drivers available. The "Legacy" driver(which Avid recommends,m but never worked for me), the TI Compliant driver(which DID work for me) and a third driver I don't remember.

Dear Dave,

well, the PT worked fine until yesterday.

I'm not sure, but AVID send us with 'avid application manager' 2 different updates.

I guess the problem came with one of them.

AVID told me today the driver I'm using is the one for 'console' and the 2 others, are in fact for rack 003.

So maybe my problem is solve at 50%, but anyway, I do not have automation anymore.

Just the sound onto speakers and headphone, all faders are now static.

What do you mean for

In case you're still reading Nick, 9.0.6 is the latest (and last) driver for the 003 console.

I'm also having (different) problems with PT v12.4 and the 003, you're not the only one.

Hope you get it sorted out.

Windows 10, Pro Tools 12.5, Digidesign Digi 003 Console (Factory), Driver 9.0.6... Same issue here. The 003 works and connects but the Automation and Faders do not work. Has anyone figured out a driver or work around to make the faders work and follow the faders in Pro Tools, Is this an issue AVID plans on working on or is the 003 Legacy dead equipment.

Go into Device Manager and click on the firewire controller and select Update Driver. Then select Let me Choose from a list. You should have 3 options. Legacy, TI Compliant and a third I don't remember. Avid recommend the "Legacy" driver(and you should give it a try). For me, that driver did not work, but the TI Compliant driver worked dandy(Windows 7 x64, 003 console and Pro Tools versions LE 8.0.5, 9.x and 10.x).
