Default Comping Vocals

I have seen a number of different approaches to comping vocals and I'm wondering if a few of you would share your particular methods.

Let's use the example of 3 complete lead vocal takes to be comp'd down to one track.

Also, any tips on making an "electronic" double for the comp'd vocal. ie: the "simulated" double tracked vocal.

There's a recent thread I think in the tips and techniques forum that explained all the diff methods. maybe you can try to search for that one.

1) Create a VoxComp track assigned to voice 1.
2) Assign your 3 Vox tracks to voice 1 as well.
4) Disable "Latch Solo Buttons" in Preferences.
5) Compare each take by solo'ing them.
6) Copy the best take to the VoxComp track.
There are probably many variations on this method.

I've never liked the sound of ADT...automatic double-tracking.
With 3 Vox takes, you can find at least 2 that sound good together...I hope! Then use VocAlign and AutoTune.

learn the protools audio basic functions first .
if u got clicks , youve cutted or edited wrong .
for comping i basically have a target track upon my destination track ( as described , same voice settings ) . i use different playlists for different takes on my destination track ( like vox1,vox2,voxx ) . i cut what i like from each playlist and thats it .

basically real simple if you know protools a little . if u dont , it may sound confusing .

good luck
