Keeping Mix and Edit windows open
Hello,
When I have the Edit window open, and I want the Mix window open I click -> Window -> Mix If I click anywhere in the Edit window the the Mix window disapears until I bring it back up. How can I keep the Mix window visible as I switch between the 2? Thanks Mike |

Joking aside, you would have to size the windows appropriately for them to both stay on the screen. You can also toggle between them quickly using the ctrl + = (press the ctrl and = key at the same time)

Re: Keeping Mix and Edit windows open
Cakewalk had a feature called "auto-activate" but as soon as they beacme Sonar, they dumped it.
As long as there was a piece of a window peepeng oput from anywhere, you placed the mouse and "Voila!", the window became active. Maybe the dev-team could consider this?

Re: Keeping Mix and Edit windows open
I think Ctrl+= is better because you keep the windows maximized and just quickly toggle between the two.
Screen space is pretty precious in pro tools, I don't see why one would want either of the windows minimized in any way, just to click and activate. two best solutions are ctrl+= or to get dual monitors. Even with dual monitors, I sometimes stretch both windows and still toggle to see as much as possible.

I agree, jfitz; ctrl+= is the easiest way, and once you get used to doing it, it gets to be second nature. Kind of like ctrl+s
