Hey Drew,

I'm still having issues under PT8. At this point I've got a dozen faders out of twenty four that randomly go dead and or fight. The problem comes and goes. I wish PT8 had been a fix. Keep knocking on wood I got burned in a session last week with producer who got upset when I had to mouse a fader move because my desk didn't agree. He needed to hear something quickly while tracking and we didn't have time to loose. After dealing with the issue for as long as I have this really rubbed me wrong. I'm gonna talk with Digi about it again today.

Yeah, that sucks. Sorry you're not having the luck I am. I was hoping it was attributable to PT8 but I guess not.

Luke,

I strongly suggest that you call Digi tech support for a resolution to your fader issue.

Hi,

I Have experienced the same problems on our d command and d-command es.
despite firmware upgrades, and in one case entire fader pack replacement, the problem still happens I find it annoying... it seems to be the same faders some days and others they work fine. removing the caps sometimes helps.

I Just nudge the bank along and use a different fader...

penny and giles from ams neve desks would have been nice, but prob would have made it double the price.

we have 20 D-cons and lost fader control can be easily returned in the utility window. i think it is utility>test>fader>reset. the faders move to the top of their travel then to the bottom and all is good. dont even have to close protools. every once in a while I just go through the rooms and run this utility and I havent had any problems.

Ive had 2 faders die and thats pretty good for 600+ faders.

I had fighting faders for years with my Icon. Nothing would fix the problem. Tried earth ground, carefully cleaned over and over again even though they didn't even appear to be at all dirty, cycled, basically tried everything posted about the issue. Anywhere from 2 to 7 faders were always unresponsive to touch.
Finally had a tech friend out who figured out how to fix it.
He can be contacted directly at [email protected] or call him (Lou DePasqua) at Innovative Technologies Corporation 847-877-1739. He's been doing music equipment repairs product designing in the Chicago area for 30 years. He's a good reasonable guy not out to rip anyone off.
He can provide you with a quote based upon the number of faders you want modified. You can send your faders in directly to him and he will turn them around quickly.
I haven't had one problem with faders since!
