Default Mbox mini interface problem

I disconnected the Mbox interface, to take my laptop somewhere. Then later, I reconnected them together with the USB.

But then, Pro Tools LE screen said, "Unable to locate interface hardware".

Am I doing something wrong when disconnecting the interface USB? It's happened twice. I have to "system restore" to get it normal.

Personally, I would only connect/disconnect with the computer off, but USB is supposed to be hot-patchable. In any case, when disconnecting with the computer on, I would use the Safely Remove Hardware feature to eject the Mbox. Also, always use the same USB port as drivers get installed to address a specific port(of course, you can keep using different ports until the driver is linked to every one.....)

Yeah But Albee the problem with the new MBox 3 Mini is that you dont have this option in your taskbar when you connect your interface. What should I do in this case?
I contacted avid support and they say the new mbox wont show up the usb connected icon in the Taskbar. You can unplug directly.

I even have a thread with no reply. Safe removal(eject) for mbox 3 min.

Need help?

Just a thought, but I have found with certain USB connections, such as the MBox, things have to be done in the right order. You probably did this, but just in case, I would plug the MBox back in with your computer OFF. Then, turn it on, then boot up PT. I know I have had to do it that way with my MBox2 Mini. Something in how the computer "sees" the MBox, I guess.
