I feel somewhat ripped off from this last year too. I have dealt with so many frustrating bugs with Big Sur and 2021.6 forward (so half the year). 2021.10 basically sent me on a week of troubleshooting to try to fix the bad driver that was released with it. This is the first time I have ever used Avid support to try to help me with the issue. They completely left me stranded and finally replied to my urgent questions 2 weeks later after I had already sent them the solutions I had discovered myself after 15+ hours of trouble shooting.

The Hybrid Engine was a neat feature to see added. So I am grateful for their work in that area. I was just hoping for so many more bug fixes in this update. Pro Tools is currently the buggiest it has ever been when running in Big Sur.

Strange that my experiences with Big Sur are completely different. Protools has been running great on Big Sur for me. However, I realize that different people's configuration, plugins, and workflows may yield different results, so I acknowledge your frustration with Protools on Big Sur. I know the transition to Apple Silicon will be long and difficult but I'm looking forward to getting there. Apple will always make changes in the name of progress and Avid will always need to catch up - albeit ever slowly and with incompatibility issues. If history has taught us anything, it is that Apple often moves again before Avid manages to catch up, therefore repeating the cycle. It is the nature of the beast and the price we pay to use Protools, else we'd be using Logic to avoid or minimize this drama.

I understand some disappointment for lack of new features, but I also appreciate the stability improvements in 2021.12 - many plugins that were crashing PT (upon start) are now working fine on Monterey...

Same here. Remaining issues are attributable to PT, not the OS.

Another vote for Big Sur. It has been the most stable OS for PT in quite some time.

Yeah, I had an issue like that were it went to some silly "Saleforce" support minion or robot. Not like the old days. Then I finally got thru to someone via the DUC who was in senior management and they got someone to me to deal with the movie bounce issue. It was then handled. I ALSO never use support for anything, since I am usually the one helping others. It's just that I was in the middle of a large project and did not understand that movie bounce was a mess when I went to Catalina from Mojave. Basically I got caught in that.. All is well know and happy to stay on Catalina for a long as I can.

And rather than just locking up on Monterey, PT offers to move the Avid Complete Bundle Plugins to the Unused folder. But no real fix for Monterey.
