Procontrol Fader Problem

I have a brand new basic procontrol running on G5 with OSX and ProTools HD 6.4.
Fader number 6 doesn't always respond - (ie when I start up in the morning - all the other faders flip to zero and number 6 stays at infinity or messing with the fader on the computer and the fader on the procontrol doesn't respond)
It can be booted back into life either by the ultra-technical switch it off and on again method and also by going into the utilities/test/fader/reset. Surely this shouldn't be happening on a brand new bit of kit?
I have been in touch with the supplier and he's checking it out....
Meanwhile, has anyone else had this problem or does my current procontrol need to go back and meet its maker and I should be sent a new one straight away?

It doesn't happen often, especially on new units, but you may have a bad fader. They can be easily swapped out in about 20 minutes.

If the unit is brand new you should be able to get a new fader at no cost. If your dealer is unable to come up with one, contact Digidesign Tech Support in your area.
