Video playback issue

Not all the times, but about 80% of the time, when I hit play the video in the timeline plays at about 5 times the speed of the audio. I imported a video track with audio attached, PT split the channels into to separate files, sure, sounds fine. But most of the time the video is so fast it's completely unusable. Most of the time it plays that way for about 3 seconds and then the video just freezes, but right now it just keeps going - I could be ahead in video by 5 times if I just let it go. It's mot than a problem, it's literally putting me days behind because I can't see what I'm working on.

i7, 2.8 quad core, 8 processes, video feed coming from raid 0 2 ssd's at 1GBps, 16gb 1333mhz. M-audio profire 610 firewire.

What's the codec?
Do you have more than one video track? (if so make sure they are the same codec)

PT does not like interframe compression codecs.
Use full-frame codecs, photo jpeg, RroRes, Apple Intermediate, etc.

Also, re-compress so every frame has the same duration.

And while nor necessarily a problem, RAID is not officially supported (or needed, as long as your video is on a separate drive)
