Default "magnetic" behavior of the cursor

Hi there.
I would like to know if there is some way or trick to have a "magnetic" behavior with the edit cursor. I mean: the edit cursor automatically places on a end of a region / marker / cut when you click in the near of it.
That would save a lot of time when editing, instead of zooming each time to find the exact spot.

Thanks very much for your help.

If you disable Tab to Transient, then the Tab key will snap the cursor to the next edge. That would seem to do what you want with only 1 extra step(drop the cursor near the edge and hit Tab).

Thanks Albee.
I would like also to know if there's a way to shorten or make longer a region in the same way. I'd like to be able to expand the length of a region to the next or previous adjacent region, without having to zoom in each time.
Thanks.

shift-tab to select next, shift-option-tab to select previous.
