Oh man I may have to completely reinstall pro tools. I just was messing with the I/O settings and now I'm getting this constant really loud humming. This sucks.
Devan,
Hello again. Sorry to hear your ongoing battle with that Mbox. Hope you are now getting audio on both sides. And if that make you feel any better, I've just re-installed everything on my system...
good luck,

Well, you dont have to go that far to the point of reinstalling Pro Tools. On the I/O settings page you can set everything back to the original default settings. I would rather see you do that than reinstall PT.

So to recap, we have the click track rolling, a few plugins installed and almost ready to record.

Well, we're getting close.

Hit the mono button.

Sorry, I couldnt resist.

(You might want to check your cables going to your monitor system.)

Am I missing something here?????? Why are you trying to use a Stereo Track????? Use 2 seperate tracks. One for Vocals, one for Guitar. Set the input for the vocal track to 1 set the input to the guitar to 2. That way you have 2 mono tracks that will play out of both speakers. If you are determined to have stereo guitar and stereo vocal tracks the record them seperatly. Meaning record a stereo track of guitars, then a stereo track of vocals.

Is this what you wanted?

No I'm singing and playing at the same time. And the two mono tracks wont play through both speakers, as of now one plays through the right side and one plays through the left. That's what I'm trying to fix.

Devan, how are you monitoring things? Do you have the headphones plugged directly into the mBox?

If so, pressing the mono button so that the mono light is on is your answer.

Devan, I know/think I've covered this before, but the tutorial videos REALLY will help you out alot more than all of this back and forth.

Mbox Tour <-- right click this link and select "Save Target As" or "Save Link As". Then open it with Windows Media Player.
Setting Up a Track to Record <-- right click this link and select "Save Target As" or "Save Link As". Then open it with Windows Media Player.

These two training videos, though briefly, both talk about the "sound in one side" and how to alleviate it (which is to press the mono button so the mono light comes on, as has been directed here many times already).
