Question Track height problems in PT 7.1

Hi there - I've recently changed over to Pro Tools 7.1 after a long time in 6. I'm having a weird problem: whatever track height I set one track to, every track of its type (audio or MIDI) changes to the same size. I don't have the "ALL" group active & can't find any preference or function that sets track height for global uniformity, which i definitely don't want. None of my friends who've been using PT7 can figure it out.

Any ideas out there? It's slowing down the work flow too much. I've already trashed preferences, etc. Appreciate all help in advance.

Thanks!
FM

I'd probably start by doing a cs upgrade. Other than than that, I'd do the usual preference trash and database dump. www.deshais.com has the good trash application.

Hi,

Sounds like you might have "zoom toggle" selected! under the mag glass.

Also you might find it easier to use "keyboard focus" (the a---z button) and use single key commands for zoom? R=zoom out, T=zoom in

Hey Chris,

I'm actually having a similar problem where I make a track large in view and as soon as I click on another track, the new on becomes big and the old one becomes small. Any ideas over there across the H20?
Cheers buddy,
Scott:

That's what it is, I'm such a bad typist and I always use keyboard focus so I must have inadvertently hit the t or r I think you said. I'll check again after I post this. thanks my bro!

Hi Scott,

It will be the "zoom toggle" button on the edit page, situated under the magnifying glass, top left. little box with arrows point N.E.S.W.

Thanks Chris, I actually fixed it right away after your last post. You're the best my friend. I am coming to Hampton even if it kills me! Want anything/info at AES. I can get you a free pass dude> VIP! (Very introverted person) Ha! Thanks again! BTW the N.E.S.W. thing sound cool though.

Chris, you're exactly right! Luckily, I figured it out after a search late last night but I appreciate your quick response. I'd been using T & R without any problem but the track height thing I'd never encountered.

Thanks, guys!
