You might want to try a demo of Digidesign's X-Form plugin for something along the lines of pitch n' time.

For the vinyl noise there are a number of plugs that can do this, digidesign make DINR, theres also Bias Sound Soap.

Cheers

Apparently, X-Form is now the best algorithm there is on the market. I'll judge for myself when I get it in the next few days, but all reports are uniformly excellent.

All DAWs offer basic plugins to cover most tasks, but apart from the odd standout most of them are far exceeded in quality by third party plugins. Pro Tools is not unique in this regard and for the record, I think that the Digi Time/Pitch shift is pretty useful for a free app.

Peace

Sonny

You don't REALLY need all this, but you sure do WANT it.

Unfortunately, all my suggestions are not cheap. I used to use Speed from Sound Toys and found that excellent. I now use SoundShifter from Waves, but that is only available in the expensive bundles. But it is very accurate.

Recently I got the Melodyne plug-in. I haven't worked a lot with the time shifting part of it, but the pitch shifting is incredible. Both in preserving the original character, or if you want to manipulate other formant variations.

Not the most intuitive plug-in, but quite superb.
