Are WE ever going to get Time Code?
Huh????
I just found out, from going through some older threads, that I USED to have Time Code because the 7.1 - 7.3 Academic Versions had Time Code and OMF export capabilities. Due to compatibility issues, Academic versions were eliminated and only Academic prices remain. Digi was kind enough to give us Digi Translator after they got rid of the Academic verions. Which was pretty cool. Since we used to have Time Code, why is it not offered to us in the form of a DV Toolkit? Is it because we are Mpowered and it's supposedly one step down from LE? Believe me, I'm not encouraging the sale of these damn "Toolkits" but it would be an option wouldn't it? I didn't need it before but I work with more videos now, so time code is a necessity. I've already invested into Mpowered and a Profire Lightbrdige and outboard converters. Not going to reroute to switch to LE inorder to spend more on a DV toolkit. Considering how Digi likes to charge for "options" (ahem, MP3) I find it strange they don't offer DV to us. Is it because they still need to protect LE as theirs? They need for customers to differentiate between M-Audio and Digidesign? I just don't get it. |
