Default Magic ID does not match...!?!?!?!?!

What the **** is this? Sunday night, Monday am deadline. Much to do. pt 5.2 crash, upon trashing prefs and setup and restarting, session won't load and reports that "the magic ID does not match the region list" the only choice is to say "OK". then I am left with no session. I did a search and found nothing. I tried opening the session with 5.1.1. same thing. ANYBODY, please? it was already going to be one of those nights. now it just might not work out at all.

Hey Tom:

I found this post in another thread ("magical" session id?) in response to the Magic ID issue. Hope it helps in some way!!!

Means the session is "corrupt."
You'll have to go to backup.
The only time I've heard of this happening is when there's a problem with a drive.
I've heard of it happening to people who hot swap drives.

unfortunately, the backups were also corrupt. all the autosaves too. Interesting concept about the drive. this seems to have have happened just after I installed the DAM firewire drivers. I have since disabled them.

Ouch.
You might try copying the sessions to another drive and try opening from there.
