DVD-RAM and PTNT
Hi
Anybody using DVD-RAM as backup? Works fine? And is it possible to move sessions to and from Mac on a DVD-RAM disc? ------------------ |

Re: DVD-RAM and PTNT
I've been using DVD RAM for about14 months. Works very reliably, and I really like being able to drag & drop. It is quite slow to write, though, and reading isn't much better. I haven't put a stopwatch to it, but I usually copy to/from through a 100-T network, and allow 15 to 20 minutes for a 1G write, and more like 12 minutes for a read. I've had no problems.
We've been running PT on a Mac, and will have a Mix system on NT early next week. I am curious to know how smoothly the file exchange process will be, and will check back with you then.
