Default backward compatibility of sessions

Hello, I'm running PTLE 5.3.2 on a Digi002. My friend has some sessions on an external firewire drive recorded on PTLE 6.4. Can I open these sessions? Thought I'd better ask the experts first in case it would cause any problems.

Thanks.

From the PTLE 6 compatibility documents:
Session Interchange — Pro Tools 6 & Earlier Versions
http://www.digidesign.com/compato/xp/session.cfm

Also, if you are the original owner of the Digi 002 and you purchased from an authorized Digidesign dealer, the update to Pro Tools LE 6.4 is free.

It says "If you wish to move a session created in Pro Tools 6 to a system using an earlier version of Pro Tools, you may first need to select "Save Session Copy In..." to copy all of your audio files to supported sample rates"

Does the session need to be "Saved As" by the 6.4 user before I can open it, I presume?
Thanks!

"Save Session Copy in " to a removable or transportable media ( CDR/DVD-R/HD )
This is also the best way to xfer everything between the two systems in a single session folder...

good luck,
