Default BUG (?): Match clip doesn´t work on split mono

Hi,

I have a bunch of ADR files recorded on stereo tracks (boom/lav). When I right-click PT 7.4 shows me all the other takes but when I do a "split track to mono" match clips doesn´t find any matches on the single .L and .R clips.

Is this a bug or a feature?

Frank.

Use Sibliminator on the files. The match will then work on the .L and .R's

Sounds like a "feature" Frank...

Thanks Ray,

what puzzles me is that PT is able to find matches when the exact same audio lives on their original "birth-track" but then when I spilt the track to mono, it won´t anymore.

Doesn´t make sense to me. On the other hand...is there a bug that makes sense?

all bugs make sense to someone (eventually).

the field recorder behaviors, however, are a whole different class of "features" which don't conform to the normal laws of programming.
they're like quantum features - you can never really be sure what the result will be at any given moment. in fact you can't really say for sure if a feature exists at all until someone makes an observation of it.

Einstein and Bohr had a well documented argument over whether or not Scene and Tape metadata should be interchangeable. Despite Einstein's resistance to the idea it is now widely accepted that BWF metadata exists in an inherently chaotic world.

see what happens when I don't have any work...
mindless nonsense like this.
sorry.

Tesla's metadata worked better, that's why he's dead and we don't use it.
