Default Audio Drop outs and white noise on audio recordings.

Hello There!

Im a new happy HD owner (at least i WAS happy when I bought it)

PT HD 7.4 with 96 Interface. PCI e. HD 1
Windows XP Quad core 4x 1024
All component in the computer should work fine, i dont find any errors with music recodings on the net about the diffrent parts in it.and it works like a charm otherwise until I got the HD card.

I just just have serious [bleep] up errors when recording audio.

I got audio drop outs and white noise and stuff on my wave files.
The longer time i record the more [bleep] i get.

Please anyone know what causes this trouble?

2 kids to feed and a studio where I cant do [bleep] because of this MAJOR error :-(

Somebody had the same problem?

I mean i dont know where to start. Its so strange error...without any error message!!!

The one that help me fix it will get free BT and triggering for the rest of his life from me !!!

/Ronny Milianowicz

You should start with the steps in the Win XP/ Pro Tools 6.x/7.x General Troubleshooting thread and post specific info on your system per the info on that thread if you're unable to resolve the problem.

You may want to look at the Help us help you thread as well.

Sorry for being a newcommer in the HD world.
I searched the DUC for sandra report, is it a program I download somewhere?

Do I need internet connection directly or can I download it on another computer and then run the test in the studio?
(Sorry its new built I dont have internet there yet for a week or two)

Sorry for so simple questions

It seems like I found out what caused the problem even if i might be the only one in the world having this problem due to a brand new computer.

PC users read this !

Disable PCI-E Spread Spectrum in your bios.

Of some reason it didnt rockn roll with my brand new Maximus mothercard.

Im just a pro musician and pretty bad in computers but if any of you get the same problem on a PC with fairly new mothercard or new RAM hopefully this can help you.

Thanks anyway for helping me guys!

[bleep], the drop outs is still there just not so common anymore, on every 5 to 10 takes its a [bleep] up now.
I also notice that my media player have the same kinda of noice like when a plug in is to powerful for the system. kinda metallic and white noice.
Its also on the HD card since my internal soundcard is disabled.

There will be free blonds and brunettes angels in heaven for the one who can solve my biggest problem in my caréer!!!

Heres my Sandra report
