Default Buffer errors on Intel based macs

I have a Protools LE running on an MacBook Pro 17" - 2.16 Intel Core Duo, 2GB of RAM with a DIGI 002R and a supported LaCie firewire drive.

My brand new PTLE 7.1.cs1 is constantly coming up with error 6085, complaining about buffer underflow and asking me to decrease H/W buffer size or remove other firewire settings.

This happens even when I'm using only a few tracks and no plug-ins, but becomes much worse when using RTAS or importing a QT file.

I have tried bypassing the harddrive but that doesn't change anything and of course I can't use a different firewire port because there is only one of each (400/800).

The strange thing is that my setup used to work just fine and a lot faster with my old PowerBook G4: Running endless tracks and using heavy plugins such as ableton live, izotope ozone and reason.

Since I changed computers and updated my Protools everything has been so hectic that I'm starting to wonder if the digidesign products are causing me more pain then pleasure. Having searched all forums for a week I'm now starting to loose faith in this congregation.

Can anyone help me?

Hi,

Just some (might be stupid) things:

-You use 7.1.1 I presume?
-Did you run Disk Utility after installing all your programs?
-Are all your plug-ins UB?

Thanks for replying, but yes I've checked all plug-ins and I have the correct version of PT and I've repaired permissions constantly but it seems to have no effect. Sounds strange doesn't it?
