Default Check in/out PT files for remote collaboration?

Is there a solution out there so that my friends across the country can all work on the same Pro Tools session/project?

For software development, I've used Microsoft SourceSafe but to use it over the Internet, we've had to use a 3rd party product called Source OffSite. For document check in/out, I've heard of Microsoft SharePoint which seems to be gaining in popularity. For music collaboration, I've heard of Rocket Networks but don't really know what it was (defunct in 2003). I also see "DigiDelivery" as an FTP delivery product but I don't want to send/receive files, I want to check in/out (as my buddies will) so we can all work on the same project.

I have my own server and guess I could implement SourceSafe or SharePoint, but was hoping there was something already out there specifically for music sessions (maybe Pro Tools endorsed or something like that).

Thanks,

There wasn't enough interest and I believe no one wanted to pay for it.

Be careful using source control software for binary files. Some SC apps use a compression algorythm that can scramble your files. Back in the day there was a problem with Winzip doing this to .wav files and such. Don't know if this is still a problem, I know I have thought about using VSS for this once or twice but so far I have not. Point is be careful.
