Major issues with Nexis

Hi

We have issues too. Here's the setup:

- Mac Studio M1 Max, 32GB RAM, Monterey 12.6.1
- Pro Tools Ultimate 2022.10
- Latest software, both Nexis and Client manager
- Nexis Pro 20TB, Dell N4032 switch
- Using the Mac Studio's 10Gb ethernet for Nexis connection

Getting random "unable to auto save" messages. At some point Pro Tools freezes while writing the auto save file. The last autosaved session is incomplete, as it is smaller than the previous ones. This happens every couple of hours.

Our intel machines do not have this problem.

Avid Nexis 2022.12 released on 18 Jan 2023 - Installed server and client just now ...will feed back on how it goes.

Hi, Has anyone had any updates on this? Running a Mac Studio M1 on Monterey and Pro Tools 2022.10 and latest Nexis which is seeming to have the same saving issues.

Hi George senior,

I now have 5 recording studios on M1 Mac Mini's - All on 2022.12 Pro Tools and Nexis. One studio reported 2 occurences last week and the other four none. Light sessions with ± 8 playback tracks and 1 recording track, video playback from VoiceQ Pro on same computer

Encountering the same issues on my end as well. Workaround has been to use SMB. Nexis has been pretty much unusable for us. Very frustrating.

Mac Studio with M1 Ultra Running Pro Tools 2022.10 and Nexis Client Manager 2022.12 with matching firmware.

Hi, I am having issues now with 2022.12 again. It seems like the Nexis is being incorrectly seen as read only or something. Working locally the sessions run fine and also the performance increases dramatically. I'll let you know if I get any intel from Avid support or our distributers support team.

Yes these are the exact errors we are getting. I had a emporary period of it not happening on 2012.12 but I was having errors with rendering which I suspect was down to the same issues. I'm pretty sure it must be down to a permissions bug. I'll let you know if I get any info from Avid regarding fixes!
