No thats fine. How many monitors do you have? Can you disconnect one if you have more than one and see if it changes it. Also if EuControl is auto starting, try restart all EUCON Apps from the notification menu icon.

I have two monitors attached. 43" Samsung 4K TV as primary monitor connected to the HDMI output on the Mac Studio and an LG 32" 2560x1440 monitor connected via TB to HDMI adapter.

I'll give this a whirl soon as I verify that MacOS made an APFS snapshot more recent than some plug-ins I installed a few minutes ago so I can roll-back if I need to. I'm thinking if I initiated a Time Machine backup now, it should do that. Thanks, Eddie.

Hi Eddie. Tried what you suggested and had no luck. I unplugged my second monitor and installed with just one monitor. I turned off Eucon booting at start up. Removing and re-adding EuControl.app and MC_Client.app to the Security & Privacy > Accessibility prefs brought back soft key function but colors were still off after booting without EuControl autostarting and launching EuControl manually. Even colors for soft keys when Finder is frontmost app were off immediately after booting.

Not sure I can do six attachments but I will try. I shot before and afters of three examples of my MC Control v2 screen. I will alternate them with before and after.

I rolled back to my boot drive when 2022.9 installed and have normal colors back. Strangest thing. Everything just gets darker for me with 2022.12. That wouldn't be so bad if I could simply go into EuControl settings and manually brighten them up, but last time I did this I was unable to do so. I'm hesitant to do a wholesale uninstall of all prefs, but I suppose if I can do a restore from APFS snapshot again, that's not all that risky.

Yes. I get that. I admittedly initially posted here in error. However, Eddie, who I assume works for Avid, asked for some info here so I replied here to avoid confusion. I can happily move this somewhere else. I was simply replying where I was asked. Thanks.

So is this just softkeys or the whole screen? Have you played with the brightness setting on the preferences tab?

It’s only soft keys but it includes all soft keys over the entire screen. Track colors, however, are unaffected and appear as they should. As I recall just turning up the overall brightness doesn’t fix it.

In these new images the 22.12 softkeys look a lot better! more contrast? I think what you are seeing is the new feature (from S6) where inactivated softkeys are dimmer than activated ones. Please put Play onto a key and try it. When its playing is the color the same as 22.9.

Hi Eddie. Sorry it took me a while to reply. Also, don't know if I should take this offline or to a different topic on the board since, as it was pointed out to me, this is not the forum for the Artist series and I posted here initially in error?

To quickly answer your question here, I did not try reinstalling 2022.12 yet again... but I will if absolutely necessary. I did notice that I think you're on to something with the toggle stage of the softkeys. Perhaps on the Artist/MC Control screen the default state is dimmed... although as I recall they don't get brighter when I press them, but I'll check. Maybe it's a polarity sort of thing... but again... I don't think the colors changed.

What's interesting though is if you look at the quick video I made with my iPhone (posted "unlisted" at YouTube) when I press the soft key button, (with 2022.9 installed) the color does dim when they key is pressed and it looks very much, especially on the yellow buttons, that this "dimmed" color is the same color as what I see on the display when 2022.12 is installed. So it may be that the buttons are initialized and staying in this "pressed" state with 2022.12. That might also explain why going into EuControl Settings and attempting to brighten up the colors in the softkey editor has no effect?

Again, if I MUST reinstall 2022.12 and you have specific things you need me to do, I will. Just kinda getting a little tired of install/rollback/install/rollback... LOL :)
