Sudden issues in pro tools

Hello.

Last night i was working on a session and everything was working fine, until weird little things started happening.

Whenever i zoomed in on a track i could no longer see any waveform, sometimes even if i backed all the way out, just a blank colored strip that could not be moved or deleted.

Today i try and work on it and at first i get no volume out of my ref monitors or headphones. I shut it down and re open and everything is coming into my left headphone speaker. (they both work fine through itunes and mp3 player)

I was wondering if i could have deleted some important info by mistake, or should i just try to upgrade? currently running 8.3

i wasnt sure if the upgrade on avid store was 8.3 or 8.4 can anyone help me out

No one can help without a Sandra Report(read the Help us help you stickies). Trashing prefs is the first thing to try for any odd system behavior. If you ask us how to trash prefs, we will know you haven't read the stickies
