Default Replace Existing Playlists defaults to Do Not Import in 2022.5 [PT-288144]

Just updated to 2022.5 and noticed that they changed AAF/Import Session Data default setting for Main Playlist Options.

Import - Replace Existing Playlists used to be the default setting. In 2022.5 the default setting is Do Not Import.

Wish there was an option in preferences to choose the default setting for this.
Am I missing something? As someone who imports a lot of AAF's daily, this has now slowed down my process, I know it only takes a second to change the setting, but still, I wish we could choose the default setting for this in preferences.

Otherwise, the update seems stable and creating Routing Folders doesn't crash Pro Tools anymore, both on M1 and Intel Macs.

It's been a while since I changed that setting but doesn't it remember the last setting you used? Like the MP3 quality parameter, if you change it it comes back that way the next time you export an MP3.

I imported quite a few AAF's already today and it doesn't remember the last setting. Will see if it somehow changes next week

Came for this. Good to know I'm not alone

I've imported few batches of rerecorded dialogue, and every time it reverts to - Do Not Import in Main Playlist Options in Session Data window.

Gotta try what Eric Lambert said about deleting prefs and then reinstalling 2022.5.

As much as I love PT, I've always wanted to say this; what's with a pro application that needs you to regularly reset your preferences to default? It seems like a fundamental flaw, it seems silly!

I haven't trashed prefs since v 10, and I'm OK. It's just like I don't miss 'repair permissions' in Disk Utilities.

I agree with you.
Although thrashing PT prefs has never solved few problems i had over the years, i am always willing to try it just in case.

But it this case it has not.
It still defaults to "Do Not Import", so i've restored backup from few days ago with 2022.4 and will wait it out for now.
Since I'm heavy into "import session data" - edit 'till i'm blind - "save copy in" workflow, i haven't seen any bugs in 2022.4, so it will be ok for now (some light TV/Radio commercials mixing, but it's all fine there too).

I’ve also found “Import Session Data” defaulting to “Do Not Import”.
Also “Custom Shuttle Lock Speed” only plays at 200% irrespective of the value selected.

I don't seem to have any of the issues fixed in 2022.5, but this would definitely annoy me so I'll not install this update.

Jeffro / Any Other Avid Person - can you confirm this is on the jobsheet for a fix? Thanks.

It's really frustrating! I keep forgetting to select Import - Replace Existing Playlists when importing AAF's.
