SUPER weird Pro Tools Mystery, see if you can solve it!
So i've looked everywhere, including Digi DUC and no help. I've been working with pro tools now for years and have never experienced a problem like this, and I have no idea whats causing it.
I was hired to record a live concert a couple weeks ago, so I busted out my digi 002/behringer ADA setup I've used plenty of times before and recorded with Pro Tools LE 8 on a new intel macbook pro... everything worked fine. So I take it to the clients house so he could listen about a week later. I setup my mbox 2 mini, hit play and... its somehow slightly slowed down, or pitched down. I double check all of my settings and peramiters and everything is fine. He's noticeably upset, as he should be. SO I quicky time shift up to 105% and pitch shift up about 96 semitones and that seemed to fix it enough that he was satisfied. However those numbers are not exact, but rather an estimation. Not Very Professional! Please help solve this problem as I have more live sessions coming up. Once again the gear setup is: Recorded with pro tools LE 8 on a new intel macbook pro using Digi 002 with a Behringer ADA8000 connceted via adat. THEN played back through a new mbox 2 mini on the same system. Please Help solve this mystery!! |

Re: SUPER weird Pro Tools Mystery, see if you can solve it!
Sounds like you recorded at 48K and played it back at 44k.
My guess would be that you got the clocking between the 002 and the ADA8000 bulloxed up somehow and recorded at 48 when you thought you were at 44k.

Re: SUPER weird Pro Tools Mystery, see if you can solve it!
Your Pro Tools session was set to 44.1K, but you synced the 002 to the ADA which was set at 48K.
Undo the time shifts you've done so that you have just the original unedited tracks. Create a new Pro Tools session set to 48K and import all of the original audio files making sure to uncheck the "Apply SRC" option.
