Default PT 12.7-Sierra-Flux SampleGrabber

Hi,

i've recently try to see how can it work with Sierra and last Pro tools.
After a few days, Pro tools seems to have problems with the "command-s".
It takes a lot of time, and the session goes very heavy (from 14Mo to 140Mo).

So i tried to see which plug-in can cause that, and after having investigate, it seems that everything goes well, after putting out the SampleGrabber.
I've asked Flux audio, but they can't reproduce the bug.

Does anyone here see something wrong like that with Sierra and Pro tools 12.7 ?

Thanks a lot.

Maybe not related, cause I am on PC here, no Flux and PT 12.3, but I had things like you describe caused by R128-metering from NUGEN, Vis-LMH.
This plugin has a "memory"-function, that remembers what it measured before, even if you reload the session later.
Downside were things you describe, saving while Playback caused errors, saving took longer and longer the longer the mixing went through the session.
Session file got bigger and bigger, from 1mb to 30mb, even 70mb one time.
Reset plugin, or removing it lead to 1mb again after saving.
Maybe you have some meter/measurement Plugin with some kind of "memory-feature" running?

Cheers
Dirx

Hi,

thanks Dirx for your message. I didn't find time until tonight to investigate a little bit that problem. I just continue working with mountain lion.
I've just tried in my Sierra partition to update to Sierra 10.12.3, and it seems that my newer sessions even with the SampleGrabber works nicely.

So i tried with one session that caused problems, and it was all the same. I've just found that, create a new aux track with a new Samplegrabber plug-in throw away the bug. In that session, the bug is very easily reproductible : with the track with the SampleGrabber, the session weight goes up to 130Mo, and without that track it's 9Mo.

Maybe there is something with the buffer of that plug-in.
Anyway, i sent the session to Flux and maybe i'll have an answer soon or later.
