Re: Pro Tools 11 automatically changes sample rate when opening
On PC, try setting your on-board soundcard as the default for Windows sounds/audio and leave the other interface strictly for Pro Tools. You may have to change the sample rate in your interface's software before opening Pro Tools.
Cheers,

Re: Pro Tools 11 automatically changes sample rate when opening
It appears to be a new problem with PT11 on Windows.
When I want to work on sessions at different sample rates, my only solution is to open PT11, then connect a second soundcard so Windows can use that as its new default soundcard, and only then does PT11 appear free to use my main soundcard at whatever sample rate I want. I've only recently upgraded from PT8 and it never happened on that system. It's odd to have to do this workaround so I hope Avid can solve the problem soon. |

Re: Pro Tools 11 automatically changes sample rate when opening
Does your computer not have an onboard sound card - and if not, why not just install a cheap one for Windows audio?
Cheers,

Re: Pro Tools 11 automatically changes sample rate when opening
I would prefer Avid to fix the problem rather than buying a sound card I won't use.

Re: Pro Tools 11 automatically changes sample rate when opening
Do you use Mac or Win? It's not the issue of pro tools. I had the same problem before.

Re: Pro Tools 11 automatically changes sample rate when opening
Same problem even if you hold down the N key and manually select the MOTU as the playback device?
After a bout of these issues with Focusrite I switched to Mac to adopts the issues, it had been smooth sailing ever since (kow)

Re: Pro Tools 11 automatically changes sample rate when opening
You will use the sound card - for all other audio except Pro Tools. It's either that or wait a long time - or possibly forever - for Avid to allow Pro Tools to share an interface.
Cheers,
