Hey Banana Boy, just to let you know, the exact same problem occurred for me within the last few days, and we went to the DUC today to see what was happening and found your thread. GREAT! I followed your links to Phil's video, did NOT Zap my RAM...oh and I also downloaded 8.1cs2 (had been working on 8.1cs1) and now everything is back to normal.
So, I'm happy that we're both back online. I kept thinking it must have been a button I hit that originally caused the problem, but perhaps not. Anyway, all's well that ends well.
