7.2 crashing when i change Delay Comp Settings

hi,

upgraded to PT 7.2 last week. mostly smooth sailing (thanks for the new features!)

i repaired disk permissons, and used the uninstaller, then installed PT 7.2. i repaired permissions again and restarted.

working away and needed to change delay compensation from 1023 to 4xxxx can't remember what it is... do that in the payback engine window and crash. hapened again, i saved the crash report.

so, i repaired dsik permissions, tossed preferences everything in the sticky up there. then i got out Disk warrior and ran it on my system drive, restarted and ran it on all the drives...

same behavior. crashes everytime i try to change ADC settings.

session is medium sized music session. 36 of 92 voices taken.
VI's include SAMPLE TANK, EWQLSO, TRILOGY, IVORY (all the latest) coming off of a FW 800 RAID array and no FW 400 attached.
4 HW inserts for EQ, VERB and COMP's


i have 3 crash report if they help.

edit : i don't know how to read those things...does anybody here?

Not seeing that here Tom. Even if the compensation delays put you over the top DSP wise, any DSP overages will just come up deactivated. I'm only running TDM plugs. No RTAS or synths. Have you tried deactivating the instruments one at a time to see if it could be one of those causing it?

If you look at the report, try to find if any particular plugin is named. That should give you a clue.

i tried deactivating the tracks that had RTAS instruments on them. crash. celaning house and restarting... hold on.

this time i went into the session and hard bypassed the HW inserts.

ok, now if i change the voice allocation, or anything related to the playback engine i get a crash.

i will try it with a virgin session.

ok, so maybe this is session specific.

i created a new session, 24/44.1 bwav. created some audio, aux, and even an instrument track with an RTAS VI. aaaaaaaaaaaand ... change settings. no issues.

hunh.

if i find out more, i'll report back.

I just checked and no problems for me either.
This on a smaller session. No RTAS or VIs.

I just opened the System Usage window to watch what happens on this change.
How many number of voices dsp do you have assigned and do any of them load before the crash?
