Default Automation during playback only with the mouse?

Hi,
I just relized that IT IS possible to enable the automation on a fader during playback only with the mouse, while IT IS NOT possible to enable it using C 24, which is very depressing.
Why?

Marcello

Of course it's possible, Marcello.

See the row of buttons on the far left side of your C24? They show all of the automation modes.

While PT is playing, press your desired mode's button (e.g. touch) with your left hand's index finger and at the same time, with your right hand's index finger, press the select button of your desired channel. Voila.

Of course you could try to switch hands but it may affect your attention to the mix.

Izhar

and if you've got one finger on a fader to keep it in place because you're in touch mode, experiment with using your nose

A big nose comes in handy on a Procontrol too!

Thank you Izhar,
could I try using a different finger without switching hands?

That's why we just hired another engineer, we needed the extra nose.

I've heard the term "golden ears" applied to some top engineers. Perhaps we also now need the term "golden nose".
