Default i just threw out the last of my adats....

cleaning and making room. the last box of adats i had seemed like it was taking up space for hard drive storage, so i tossed them out. i had to look at them a bit, feeling a bit odd about it. the latest albums were finished in 03, so i have had them a while. everything had been transfered at one point or another for the client, so away they go its an odd feeling to be adat free.....

Oh, well that's a horse of another feather.

They make good paperweights.... no, actually not even that. Good decision.

lol, I have 2 adats I use when I don't trust the place enough to bring my laptop and it is very tough to find ampex tapes or tapes that work well anyway. The only company left is HHB and the tapes suck
but it's a dead technology

Just wait awhile. Someday in the future people will be looking for that "vintage adat" sound, and those things will be worth their weight in gold.

The blackface ones are actually supposed to have really good A/D converters from what I've heard. (at least as far as 16 bit converters go )
