Default How to get started with MBOX2 on Win Vista

Hello all, I recently bought Digidesign MBOX2 from a friend. The package contained all original installation CDs, serials, reg IDs and everything you need to get things going. There was only one problem - the Pro Tools LE version (6.8.1) that came with MBOX2 does not support Windows Vista (32bit business). All the support downloads I can find from digidesign site are updates for existing installations - and obviously I can't update something that I haven't installed. When trying to install the software it just says that Pro Tools LE requires Windows XP.

So how can I get a Vista compatible version of the Pro Tools LE that is NOT an update? I'm puzzled Please anyone???????

Thanks in advance!

You will need to buy the 7.4 update as this is the first version to support vista.

Hiya, so there is no way to get Vista-compatible PTLE for free? It's funny since I've understood that you kind of need that software if you want to operate the MBOX2 in the first place - there are no drivers etc available on the site separately. Makes you feel you're buying something disposable that does not have any value second hand...

Anyway, you mentioned this 7.4 version update - it will then obviously install without earlier version?

Thanks for the quick reply!

Not if he bought it used "from a friend" as he states.
The free upgrade is intended for purchasers of new hardware.
